Everything you need to know about Coco Loco drinks
Feel good about what you're drinking.
What's Coco Loco?
Coco Loco is an alcoholic beverage. A ready-to-drink (RTD) product, also know as a hard seltzer, made by brewing coconut water. It's naturally low sugar alcoholic coconut water, with fruit juice added for the perfect flavour balance.
How are Coco Loco drinks made?
Coco Loco drinks are made by brewing real coconut water. The alcohol is made through fermentation, similar to beer and wine. By adding yeast and rice syrup to coconut water and heating slowly, the yeast essentially converts the sugars to alcohol and carbon dioxide (adding fizz).
Coco Loco hard seltzer is known as a brewed alcohol seltzer. It's actually classified as a beer product, but it's gluten-free and tastes like a cocktail spritz, not of hops or barley.
Coco Loco is a coconut water seltzer: brewed from real coconut water — all natural, low-sugar alcohol, and thoughtfully crafted to be one standard drink per can. It's our answer to spritzes and cocktails that hit the right note, and fit-in with your balanced lifestyle.
Why coconut water?
We chose to use coconut water as the hero ingredient for our hard seltzer because it contains micronutrient properties that are incredibly beneficial. Plus it adds a natural tropical note to our cocktail spritz inspired drinks that makes it unlike any other hard seltzer available.
Coconut Water Macros
By brewing the coconut water as part of our unique formulation, the sugar content of the coconut water is greatly reduced from 4g per 100mL to 1g, making Coco Loco hard seltzers naturally 99% sugar free. The gentle process of converting sugars to alcohol ensure that the micronutrients — electrolytes and minerals — are preserved and present in our Coco Loco Pineapple and Coco Loco Passionfruit.
Electrolytes: Mighty micronutrients
Coconut water is a good source of electrolytes, especially potassium. One cup provides around 600mg of potassium, even more than a banana. These electrolytes play a vital role in hydration and muscle function, contributing to the popularity of coconut water as a post-workout beverage. This is particularly important for athletes or individuals engaged in strenuous activities who lose electrolytes through sweat. Consider coconut water after a workout to replenish these essential nutrients.
Vitamins: A Supporting Cast of Micronutrients
Coconut water also contains vitamins, notably vitamin C, which is an antioxidant and supports immune function. While some sources focus on vitamin C, it's important to note that vitamin D is not typically present in significant amounts. The vitamin C content contributes to its antioxidant properties, protecting cells from damage. While not a primary source of vitamins, it contributes to the overall nutritional value of coconut water.
Is Coco Loco low sugar alcohol?
A refreshing escape from the ordinary, our hard seltzer range is crafted with balance in mind. Coco Loco Hard Seltzer is a testament to this with a mere 3.6g of residual sugar from the coconut water; a total 6.0 grams of carbs per can. And while we skip on the sugar, Coco Loco drinks are bursting with tropical flavours.
With 3.6g sugar per 330mL can, Coco Loco is ~99% sugar free. Naturally low sugar with no artificial sugars added.
Made in Australia with no gluten and made of brewed coconut water, it exemplifies how you can indulge without derailing your low-carb lifestyle. This low-sugar beverage's vibrant taste is perfect for those moments of low-key enjoyment, without the burden of excess sugar or carbs.
