The world's only brewed alcoholic coconut water brand is a finalist among an incredible line-up of thoughtful, sustainable and genuinely good product brands — and we couldn't be happier to be in their company.
Our alcoholic coconut water drinks — Piña Colada and Passion Spritz — have been named finalists in the Clean + Conscious Awards 2026.
If you haven't come across the Clean + Conscious Awards before, they're one of Australia's most rigorous assessments of what actually goes into a product. Not the branding. Not the marketing language. The product itself: what it's made of, how it's sourced, how it's packaged, and whether the brand's sustainability claims hold up under scrutiny.
That last part is the bit that matters to us.
What the awards assess
The Clean + Conscious Awards panel evaluates products across several criteria: full ingredient and material transparency, genuine sustainability practices (not just claims), social responsibility, and packaging. Finalists are assessed by an independent panel of experts across beauty, food, wellness, and sustainability — people who read labels for a living.
For Coco Loco, the submission covered everything from our brewing process and ingredient list to our packaging choices and supply chain practices. Every 330ml can of Coco Loco is brewed with real coconut water, contains all natural ingredients, and carries ≤ 3.6g of sugar. No artificial colours, flavours, or preservatives. Gluten-free. Vegan. One standard drink.
Our packaging was part of the story too. Our cans are 100% infinitely recyclable aluminium — printed directly onto the substrate with no paper labels or adhesive. Our six-pack holders are BioPak: plastic-free, compostable, made from sugarcane pulp, and applied by hand. Our shipping cartons are FSC-certified, and for smaller orders, we repurpose clean produce boxes rather than using anything oversized.
Why we entered
We entered because the criteria described how we already operate. We didn't reformulate, repackage, or rethink our supply chain for the submission. We wrote down what we do, and it met the brief.
That's not a boast — it's the whole philosophy behind Coco Loco. We built this brand around a set of non-negotiables: brew it properly, use real ingredients, eliminate waste where we can, and make the harder choice when the easier one compromises quality or integrity.

What happens next
The finalist stage involves further assessment by the judging panel, with winners announced later in 2026. We'll keep you posted.
