1. Chilli Gin Pineapple Spritz
The Ultimate Fiery Fiesta! This one's for the chilli enthusiasts! Our Chilli Gin Pineapple Spritz is a bold, flavour-packed cocktail that perfectly marries the sweet, tropical notes of Coco Loco Pineapple with the intense warmth of Hillmartin Six-Eyed Chilli Gin.
Serves: 4 · Approx. Standard Drinks per serve: 2.75
Ingredients:
- 4x cans Coco Loco Pineapple (330mL each)
- 200mL Hillmartin Six-Eyed Chilli Gin
- Slices of red chilli, to taste
- Fresh basil leaves to zhuzh
- Ice to serve
Why this combo works:
The robust, botanical heat of the Six-Eyed Chilli Gin finds its perfect match in the sweet and tangy Coco Loco Pineapple — our light Pina Colada drink. The alcoholic coconut water base softens the chilli kick just enough, while fresh basil adds an aromatic, slightly peppery counterpoint that elevates the entire drink. The red chilli slices aren't just for show; they allow each sipper to customise their heat level, making this a truly interactive and exciting spritz.
2. Coco Loco Ginger Spritz
Here's a little warmth and zing. If you prefer your heat in the form of spice with a comforting warmth, our Coco Loco Ginger Spritz is right up your alley. This recipe balances a smooth spiced rum with the vibrant kick of ginger and the light dash of pineapple.
Serves: 4 · Approx. Standard Drinks per serve: 1.3
Ingredients:
- 2x cans Coco Loco Pineapple (330mL each)
- 100mL Jimmy Rum — Spiced
- 1x can Bobby Ginger Beer (330mL)
- Thinly sliced ginger and mint to zhuzh
- Ice to serve
Why this combo works:
The Jimmy Rum — Spiced brings a delightful depth of flavour with notes of vanilla and caramel that beautifully complement the pineapple. Bobby Ginger Beer adds a little fury, with an effervescent zing. If you're shopping for low sugar alcohol options, it's worth knowing where the sweetness in this glass comes from: Coco Loco Pineapple carries a No Sugar claim (0g per 330mL can), so the ginger beer is doing the sweet work here.
Fresh mint and sliced ginger aren't just garnishes; they add to the aroma and drinkable appeal, creating a layered flavour experience that's both tropical and comforting.
3. Hello-Piño Loco Spritz
Zesty, fresh and low alcohol spritz that still brings the heat. Want to keep the alcohol light but still crave a fiery spritz experience with a hint of island escape? Our Hello-Piño Loco Spritz is just for you! This vibrant, low-alcohol Coco Loco drink delivers all the flavour and a satisfying sip while being light on the booze.
Serves: 4 · Approx. Standard Drinks per serve: 0.5 (from the Coco Loco Pineapple only)
Ingredients:
- 2x cans Coco Loco Pineapple (330mL each)
- 400mL Tread Softly Prosecco 0% (zero alcohol)
- Sliced jalapeño — seeds? (dealer's choice for heat!)
- Fresh lime wedges as desired
- Serve chilled
Why this combo works:
This innovative spritz proves that a zero alcohol mixer doesn't mean zero flavour! The Coco Loco Pineapple provides a delicious, naturally sweet base that pairs perfectly with the crisp, dry notes of the Tread Softly Prosecco 0%. The star of the show for spice is the fresh jalapeño, which infuses a bright, herbaceous heat. Removing the seeds will give you a milder warmth, while leaving them in will dial up the intensity. Fresh lime wedges add a crucial zesty counterpoint, ensuring a balanced and incredibly refreshing taste, carried by the soft, rounded coconut water base our seltzer is brewed on.
Recipe for Coconut Water Ice Cubes
If you like a lot of ice with your drinks and don't want to dilute the flavour of the Coco Loco spritzes, then we suggest making the ice with coconut water.
There's infinite ways you can create flavour-enhancing coconut water ice cubes (coconut water contains naturally occurring electrolytes), so have a go!
Ingredients:
- Coconut water (choose one with no added sugar and not from concentrate)
- Optional: Fresh fruit pieces (e.g., small pineapple chunks, berries) or mint leaves
Method:
- Prepare ice trays: If using, place a small piece of fruit or a mint leaf into each compartment of an ice cube tray.
- Pour coconut water: Carefully pour the coconut water into the ice cube tray, filling each compartment.
- Freeze: Place the tray in the freezer and freeze for at least 4 hours, or until completely solid.
- Enjoy: Pop these refreshing ice cubes into any of your favourite spritzes, or even just a glass of water, for tropical flavour that won't wash out as the ice melts.
Coconut Water Macros: What's in the Base
Coconut water isn't just a delicious tropical drink, it's the reason Coco Loco tastes the way it does. It's naturally soft and faintly saline, it contains naturally occurring electrolytes, and it gives every spritz on this page a rounded, tropical base that plain soda water simply can't.
What Electrolytes Actually Are
When we talk about "macros" in coconut water, we're really talking about its mineral profile. Electrolytes are simply minerals, potassium and sodium chief among them, that carry an electric charge once dissolved in liquid. In coconut water they occur naturally, drawn up by the palm rather than stirred in at a factory, and they're a big part of why coconut water drinks rounder and a touch savoury next to plain water.
A note on how we talk about this: we're describing what is in the can, not what it does for you. Coco Loco is an alcoholic drink, and we don't make hydration or recovery claims for it.
Amp up the Coconut Water Macros in your Spritz
Where most mixers bring sugar and not a lot else, Coco Loco Pineapple brings a No Sugar base that contains naturally occurring electrolytes from the coconut water it's brewed on.
- Potassium: Coconut water is a well-known source of potassium. Plain coconut water sits at around 185mg per 100ml, so roughly 600mg in a 330ml serve. A 330ml can of Coco Loco Pineapple carries 257mg, because the can is a brewed drink built on coconut water rather than a can of straight coconut water.
- Sodium: Present in smaller amounts, and part of what gives coconut water its faintly savoury edge.
- Naturally occurring, not added: the electrolytes in Coco Loco come from the coconut water itself rather than from a powder or a syrup stirred in later, which is part of why it drinks so cleanly.
By building your spritzes on Coco Loco Pineapple and coconut water ice cubes, you're adding real tropical flavour and a base that is genuinely made from coconut water. Your cocktail spritz arrives with naturally occurring electrolytes and no sugar coming from the can. If low sugar alcohol is what brought you here, Coco Loco goes a step further and carries a straight No Sugar claim rather than a low sugar one.
